As the Christmas holidays are fast approaching and I am still having trouble accepting that we are in December! I have been pondering over what free family activities we can do to keep our family and visitors busy for the many weeks we have at our disposal.
This Christmas we will have 8 adults and 14 kids staying at our house for a couple of weeks. With the oldest child being 12 and the youngest 2. We will also have 3 sets of twins in this lot. No! twins do not run in our family - but guess what - they do now! It is going to be jam packed with fun and noise!
We have some super-dooper activities planned to keep the kids entertained such as:
So you think you can dance night, nature appreciation walks, nativity play night, family soccer and cricket games, Wii family challenge, backyard sleep out in the tent {for the kids of course!}, family secret service day and Minute to win it games.

Great list -- especially the at home activities. We're lucky enough to live outside of STL and have tons of free things to do withour granddaughters (that we of course did with the kids!)!
ReplyDeleteI love the list! There is a cute little website about the northpole with a naughty or nice list, activities and recipes.

A fun thing we did not too long ago was to pack a picnic of PB&J, fruit, and chips. Then we laid the blanket out on the living room carpet and ate it. At first the kids thought I was crazy but, we had a lot of fun.
ReplyDeletegreat ideas and thanks for the link! will show to the kids :)
ReplyDeleteYou have a ready made sleepover. I am going to copy and paste that list..just saying! My holidays are sorted lol
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas Naomi. When the boys were younger they played with goop ( corn flour, water, food colouring- mix till its goopy) and we still play what I call the elbow game. You have to use your body part to touch something with the colour I yell out. So you yell out " blue elbow" and they use their elbow to touch something blue. Then red nose...using their nose to touch something red. You get out if another part of your body is also touching the colour. Funny game.
ReplyDeleteWe still play storm the lantern too.
Have fun in the holidays! :)
We just did a family game night - and I insisted we play Price is Right....kids were laughing so hard! It was a blast. LOVE family time.
