a weekend away

It is over. Australia's first ever Bloggers Conference is finished. I felt so lucky to be able to attend. I had a wonderful time away for the weekend and loved meeting some awesome women that I have been so looking forward to seeing. A big thanks to those who organised it and for all the effort that they put in. If you want to see some great snaps from the weekend check out Danimezza's blog over here. I am hoping I can get some time to share some of my thoughts and pictures later on today, if I can stay awake long enough!

Serious big thanks to my awesome husband who took over running the home whilst I was gone. He really is a super dad and I so love and appreciate that he supports me in my blog loving and creative desires.

Today it is back to reality and housework. My laundry is calling my name. There is a pile of 'mount wash me' waiting for me to tackle it and cherubs that need love and attention. Bedrooms to be sorted, floors to be mopped and a kitchen that needs to be cleaned. I so love a weekend away and find the first day back is always the hardest to get through. Loud music, lots of dancing whilst I clean and chocolate help make the day go so much smoother.
Do you ever get the chance to go away?
How do you survive the first day back?

  1. SO pleased to learn that you had a fabulous time Naomi and can't wait to learn more about the conference through your lens.

I'm sure that there will be many other mums in the same boat returning home to 'reality' but I like your approach, music, dancing & chocolate = a great remedy for cleaning & tidying any old day.

  4. It was awesome and it was sooo nice to meet you, even though we didn't get to talk to long, it was nice to see you in person. You give off such a lovely positive vibe. :)

I was only gone for the day, not overnight, but still came home to a bomb site, lol. Aaah, the joys of being a wife and mother.

Hope you have fun with the loud music.

  5. I haven't been away from my children (yet!) but I understand about the washing - it's diabolical even if I have a sick day!

I'm sure that conference was amazing - getting to meet other bloggers in person, all in the one room. Wow - I think I'll need to make it next year.

Good luck getting through your day today.

  11. So glad to meet you briefly at the conference.

I spent Sunday recovering from my flights and the intense information overload on Saturday.

Monday I tackled Mount WashMore, that is after I walked around the house with a garbage bag picking up all the rubbish, then around with a big tub picking up all the dirty cups and dishes, then a laundry basket picking up dirty clothing.

Only gone for 24 hours and I felt like I was cleaning up after a frat party not 1 husband and two girls (age 6 & 7).

  12. It was great to meet you last weekend. I had a great (if somewhat overwhelming) weekend and am still trying to recover! Unfortunately the weekend stuff still needs doing and I don't even know where to begin, hence my procrastination by reading blogs!

See you in Melbourne for the 2012 conference?
