One of the reasons I have a blog is to help me remember to cherish my cherubs.
To have a place where I can record and remember great memories we have created together.
So to help me appreciate them a little more I have started a new Seven Cherubs project:
Over the next six weeks I will post every Monday an idea for you to blog about or to do at home in relation to your children. Kind of a little reminder to take some time out during your week to appreciate what wonderful treasures you have in your life. I know most of you already do this in your lives as you are such wonderful mothers but I wanted to blog about it and to make it a project.
I want to be more mindful, I want to be more appreciating and I want to spend more time cherishing.
I have also noticed that some women find it difficult coming up with ideas of what to blog about or some women at home are often so busy they forget to stop and appreciate what wonderful blessings children are. With that in mind I am hoping that you might want to join in and come link up with me every Monday. I am going to give you a sneak peak at what the topic keywords will be about. See below:
Every Monday I will share what I have done in relation to the weekly topic and give you some ideas for the next week on what you can do. So today is just to introduce the project and to give you some ideas for starting off with Week 1. Record. Here is what I would love for you to do:
This week I want you to blog or write about your cherubs or even yourself or a friend or another family member (some family history maybe?) if you do not have children and to record it somewhere. You could start a new notebook, start a scrap book, use your personal journal or write on your blog. Just find a place to keep a record of your children.
I would love you to record what they look like at this current moment. To remember how gorgeous they are, the ways their eyes sparkle, their smile, their soft hair and what a treasure they are. You can also capture pictures of tantrums, screaming, crying and sad faces. Some of my most treasured pictures are of my kids screaming as I remember the tantrums they used to throw and now that they are past that stage, (well...sort of!), it makes me smile to know we got through that together.
If you do not feel comfortable sharing it on your blog you could take a snippet of what they look like. Some ideas are: just a picture of their hands or toes, a picture of the back of them, or even a picture of their shadow to remember them by.
Some suggestion of what you could write about are:
1. What are your cherubs interests?
2. What do they like?
3. What do they dislike?
4. What is their favourite food?
5. What is their favourite game to play?
6. What is their favourite saying?
7. What song do they love the most?
8. What is their favourite television show?
9. What is their favourite book?
10. Who is their favourite friend?
One great idea that I have seen of recording images and interests is below:
Or if you are thinking of doing something fun you so need to check out Tiff and her family HERE.
So in the next week I hope you will take the time to record some impressions about your cherubs and that it will help you to take some time out to pay attention to what they like, what they dislike and where they are currently at. I am not very good at keeping an updated photo album or scrap book so I am hoping that this helps me to get my act together and to record where my cherubs are right now.
I would love to know if you are joining in with me on this project and would love you to please leave a comment below to tell me. Next Monday I will open up the link for you to add your blog posts to and I so look forward to reading and learning about your wonderful cherubs.

So in! Some days with a 3 yr old its hard to remember what a treasure he is....! I need to sit and reflect about my gorgeous boys who I am very blessed to have in my life.
ReplyDeleteAnother gorgeous idea Naomi. I have done elements of this in the past, but nowhere near enough so it is great to have some motivation to do it again. I am good at photographing and keeping photo books up to date, but not enough of the words. There are so many little things our kids do and say which we should record as we do forget as they grow and change. Whilst I will be a little busy this week (giving birth today)! I will try and use some of the downtime to record some things about the cherubs I have and the newest one I am soon to meet. Xx
ReplyDeleteLove love love this idea!!!
ReplyDeleteCant wait to have a go! Its do easy to get caught up in life & forget the small things about our little people

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful idea! Count me in too. Life goes by way too fast...you've got to capture those memories while you can.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea Naomi! I'll endeavor to do it...I'll see how I go, but I look forward to following the project anyway. And you've already reminded me to treasure every moment with my cherubs today & to take note of the little things. Thank you xo
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea and great suggestions for recording.
ReplyDeleteI interviewed my boys a few months ago and I've seen others do it too on their birthdays.
I love this idea, Naomi. Joel's so ill at the moment, but if he falls asleep soon, I'll try to get onto it this afternoon.

ReplyDeleteAnother brilliant project. Thanks Naomi.
ReplyDeleteI feel I really need to do this at the moment. I don't think I acknowledge or cherish my children as much as I have in the past.
My two are wonderful (most of the time lol) and I know I don't tell them enough.
This is a lovely idea! I will join in! Just out of curiosity what program did you use to do the writing on the photo of Sam?
ReplyDeleteAnd yet another great idea Naomi!! :) Yes I'll climb on board but I'll start next week. It's so true - we tend to take our kids for granted that we forget to see what's in front of us.
ReplyDeleteI don't link up with many things these days, but I want to get my blog printed into a book and really it is the posts about my kids that I really want.
ReplyDeleteI often post when things are not as fabulous as they usually are, so I am really looking forward to this one.
Count me in!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Naomi! I've wanted to do something like this for my boys for a long time after reading about a Mum who wrote a letter to her children on each of their birthdays telling them about their past year.
