Doll house furniture and doll set giveaway

My girls love the doll houses we have. Actually, I love them as well. We enjoy sitting down, playing, acting and pretending with the dolls, furniture and accessories that come with such pretend play situations.

For some reason I always end up being the 'daughter' and one of my girls is always the 'mother'. I so laugh (on the inside), watching and listening to how my girls think a mother should act. Some doll house moments have actually been a real eye opener on how my behaviour really is as a mother and an insight into how my children see me.

We were recently sent some doll house furniture and dolls to try out by Marthese from Romantic Flair Original. Liberty and I sat down on the computer, did a little shopping on Marthese's site, and Liberty picked out what dolls and furniture she would love to play with. We were both really happy with the choice and we looked forward to our treat arriving in the mail.

Here are the two wonderful products we received:

We have a wooden dolls house so the wooden furniture and cute wooden dolls were the perfect addition to our house and collection. They are sturdy and just the right size for little hands to play with. The dolls are simple and I love that they look like what I envision a doll should look like. None of this Barbie fancy frilly stuff.

Once the dolls arrived Liberty carted them around every where with her for the next couple of days. Here are some pictures of the fun they had with the dolls and furniture:

I was really happy that the dolls are able to stand up and stay in place. It is so hard to play with dolls that fall over all the time. My girls also loved that the bed was the perfect size for the dolls and even came with a blanket and pillow to add a little 'real' factor to the pretend play. I had so much trouble trying to take pictures of them playing as their little hands were moving as fast as lightning shifting furniture, moving dolls around and acting out parenting moments.

Marthese is giving away to a Seven Cherubs reader a $30 voucher to her store so that you can pick out some dolls or furniture for your cherubs to pretend play with. You can check out the furniture range here and the doll range here. The $30 amount will cover the price of one furniture set and one doll set if you desire or several sets of each range.

  1. I'm following Mathese's blog now (was already on her email newsletter list!) and left a comment. I just love the play-pretend stage my 3-year old is going through at the moment; it definitely IS revealing, particularly when she always dresses in my high heels, picks up a handbag and announces she's "going to work" :) We're getting her a doll's house for Christmas and would love one of these beautiful sets. x

  2. I am following Marthese's blog and love this post on pretend play.
I recently handed down my doll house to my two daughters that my grandfather built me as a child. Together we are re-painting it and are looking forward to filling it with new furniture and a family. As I look back over my childhood, time and time again I think of my dolls house and the love of my grandfather as he gave it to me. It was a place where my imagination filled every room.

  4. Also following Marthese (I thought I already was, perhaps on Networked Blogs?? I follow her on Twitter already). I am so excited to be given the chance to enter this comp. I'd dearly love to swap out some clutter/crap and make room for these natural toys. L has some at kinder and honestly, I have not seen her more into her pretend play as she is there with them. I'd love for her to have the opportunity at home. Thanks for reminding me I really ought to source some! x

  5. Our dolls house is one of our best purchases. My four year old son loves to wait until his sister is at school (not that he should have to wait mind you) so that he can have fun with the dolls, furniture and house. I would love to get some new items to 'makeover' one of the rooms or have a new family move in.
    Thanks, Heather

  11. These look gorgeous! I would love for my 3 year old son, and twin 1 year old boys to have these dolls to play with. The older 2 children (girl and boy) played heaps in their dollhouse . . . but they never had real people to put in it. It's weird (I'm ashamed to say) . . . I love boys playing with dolls, yet I'd hesitate to go out and buy them unless given some extra incentive! I'm sure oldest would join in on the fun too!

  15. These look gorgeous! girls really love playing their Kids Doll House ,As they play it promotes an imaginative play which is very essential for young kids. They allow or help children to act things and situation they've observed and heard at home. These will also enhance their social skills, conversational vocabularies and stretch their creativity and imagination as well.
