Back to School with Bright Star Kids Name Labels

I don't know what back to school preparation is like in your house, but in our house it is crazy and insane! Trying to sort out uniforms, books, bags, stationary lists and school shoes for seven cherubs is a massive undertaking. This year I have six cherubs going to school and one cherub going to kindergarten for a couple of days a week. I will have a few days to myself for once...I will be a new woman!!

My cherubs love putting together the school packs but as a mother as I send them off on the first day of school loaded up with books and lunch boxes and drink bottles, I always wonder if I will see any of those items come home again.

This year I am hoping we stand more of a chance of keeping those items in our home and family. Lucky for me, I have a little extra help from Bright Star Kids who sent me some great stickers to help label school items in the hope that this year they will not get lost!

I received the Preschool and Daycare Labels Pack, which contains a pack with enough stickers and iron labels to cater for our whole family. I found the process of ordering the labels and designing my own stickers easy and fun. This pack is available for $34.95 with free delivery.

I simply went to the Bright Star Kids website, entered my chosen words, picked my colour, picked my font and then had fun deciding on an icon to represent our family. I had to go for the happy face as we have both boys and girls and I wanted them to smile every time they saw the stickers during their school day.

You can also decide to use an individual child's name but for a large family like mine, I decided to go for our family name as my kids swap school items around all the time. In label pack you receive the following:

10 x Large Stick-on labels for books, lunch boxes and other big things

80 x Tiny Stick on labels for crayons, pencils and other tiny items

30 x Small Stick-on labels for water bottles and other smaller items

10 x pairs of Funky Feet Shoe labels

30 x Regular Iron on Clothing Tags for all t-shirts, socks and school uniforms

The delivery was super fast, the products are good quality and the company has a great reputation. If you are looking for label links for their website I recommend you check out the following links:

  1. And I thought getting the school gear ready for my twins was hard enough. Let alone for seven little everythings. Those labels would make life easier Im sure.
Any tips on where to get the best school shoes? I bet you have that down pat!

  3. I just get my kids shoes from Big W. They have several brands to chose from and last week they had a special on Grosby Shoes so I picked up those. Hope you enjoy the Daycare pack Ames x

  4. This is a great post, I really like the little thin stickers as I think they are also useful with big people things & means you are getting value for money!

  6. I've been extremely lucky that my two rarely lose anything. Of course now I have I have said that they will.

We have a label machine and Girl Child likes to put different pictures on her labels, like a flower, a dolphin etc.

While its more expensive I buy the book packs from school because that way I know I have everything. A friend buys it only because then she has one receipt for everything for the Education Tax Rebate.

  7. Cherish your new woman status for the days you have for yourself. Don't volunteer for anything extra yet( or at all). Have fun.jojo3b :)

  8. I used to label them but because the school shares the stationery, I need not bother with that. BUT, I do label their school jackets and hats. These normally go "walkabout" and are not something I'd want to keep on purchasing just because they've been misplaced. Love the Bright Star Kids iron on labels and great idea using the family name instead of individual ones!

  10. My cherubs hats go walk about the most and I am so hoping this year with an iron on label they come walking back to us for once. I found them so easy to apply and yes, unfortunately it is that time of year Sonia. Thanks for your comments ladies. N x

  11. I tried to order these before, but they wouldn't accept the name I wanted. We are a blended family, so I wanted Smith-Bob family, they said no. So we don't order from them.

  13. Ooh, thanks for writing this post!

My toddler is starting daycare this year and this is the first time I have experienced this whole daycare/pre school business so I have been on the lookout for labels :)

I should mention that his first day is tomorrow and for the first time in my life I am incredibly disorganised! A bit of denial on my behalf perhaps?
