King Family Donations

I woke up this morning to discover that one of my blog friends, Lisa King (pictured above) had lost her husband, Aaron during the night. I was shocked and burst into tears immediately. You see, Lisa is one incredible woman and in the past several months has been through so much already that it was just heartbreaking to hear about.

In October late last year she lost her son, Noah. (You can read about Noah and his journey on her blog HERE.) After many years of battling with his health he passed away at 10 years of age. It was a great loss to the family. Over the past couple of months the family together has been trying to move on, to live without Noah and to adjust to the changes in family life and to heal their hearts.

To now have the loss of her husband. I am speechless and at a real loss for words to even start to describe how she must feel. Lisa wrote a post about her sweet Aaron on her blog and here are Lisa's words:

"I know that they say that you aren't given anymore than you can handle, but right now I think I'm at my limit. After losing Noah less than four months ago and now losing my best friend, soul mate and love of my life I'm so grateful for my three boys who I love so much, who give me strength to keep going and look ahead to the day when we will be together with Noah and Aaron again. All I can think of is them hugging and talking and running and even side stepping together. Oh how wonderful their reunion must've been. I love you Aaron and I wish you were here just for one more day, to let you know just how much."

After sharing her heartache on my facebook page several people have contacted me offering to donate to help the King family. As a blogger I have seen incredible love and kindness shown towards those who are in need and who are suffering great loss and heart ache. After pondering this I have decided to set up a separate bank account for the King Family and would appreciate any donation that you can contribute to them at this time.

I know the journey Lisa and her three boys have ahead of her is not going to be easy and that what we will be able to raise will be a small comfort to them, but I am hoping that it may ease the burden in some small way to bring some additional happiness to them in this time of heartache and trial.

What I would love to do is to help raise funds for them to get through the next month. To help pay for groceries and expenses to ease the burden Lisa will face of providing for her family as a single mum. Having only recently finished paying for Noah's funeral, I would love to help raise enough funds to pay for a headstone for Noah, (he currently does not have one) and to cover the cost of having to pay for her husband Aaron's funeral. These expenses will be a big burden on Lisa when she is dealing with the shock and loss of her wonderful family members.

I know that if we all can contribute we can make this possible.
Even if you can contribute $5 it will make a big difference for Lisa and her family.

If you are able to contribute in any way possible the bank account details are:

Naomi Ellis
Suncorp Bank
BSB: 484799
Account Number: 204 067 630

If you would prefer to send something in the mail a PO Box has been set up to receive donations:

PO BOX 759
 Launceston, TASMANIA, 7250

Some people have requested using Paypal as an option.
I have tried setting up a donations tab but as I am not a registered charity I am unable to.

I have instead set up a fundraising page for donations that will pay directly into the bank account set up.
This way I can avoid paypal and the crazy fees.

You can donate HERE:

Thank you so much in advance for your kindness and generosity.

    3. I tried but it kept asking for a state and only gave me Australian states from which to select even though I had selected United States as my country. Any suggestions? I am probably missing something very obvious...

  8. I am Lisa's Mum, and I am so touched by your kindness and big heart in doing this for my daughter and her boys.
Aaron would be so moved by what you are trying to achieve for the love of his life and his boys he had to leave behind.
There are absolutely no words to express my feelings at this time.
We as an extended family are still so much in shock and disbelief at the present time, but I know that all of us will be mentioning you in our prayers.
    Thank you again.
    God bless you.
    Lorraine.

  9. Oh wow. I'm not sure what to say except thank you for your live and kindness. I feel so alone, yet so overwhelmed with support. I think this is all a bad dream
And I'm going to wake up, but I'm lying in bed at 3am
With my boys in my bedroom rather than Aaron snoring next to me and wonder how I'm going to be a single mum and do it without him. I have no choice but to do it without him. I don't want to do it without him. I can't do it without him. I have to do it without him. Thank you Naomi. It's all I can say.

    1. My heart goes out to you and your boys, Lisa. I also lost my husband a year ago, and felt just how you described you feel, although you and your children are younger than me and mine. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I'm grateful that you have your extended family and friends who love you, and the Gospel, but it's still incredibly hard just the same. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May you feel the Savior's love enveloping you and carrying you along.

  20. So so heart breaking and I am so sorry for the loss of your Precious Son and your best friend, soul mate. I can not imagine what you are going through, but God is with you and He knows that you are hurting, but lean on Him, lean on friends and family. It is okay to cry because you are hurting, but God is covering you all in His love and His love is wrapped around your and your precious Boys. I will make a donation because this is something God told me to do. Again I am so sorry for you loss, but just look at how many people love and care for you, even if they do not know you and you do not know them. You are covered in prayer and I will keep your precious family in my prayers. I know its hard to stay strong for yourself and especially your Boys, but God will lead you through this. Just listen to Him and He will guide you through this time. May God be with you and your Boys. God Bless you and your Boys.

My son is in hospital and has been ill for some weeks, but he is here. And I have my wonderful husband to help me get through it all. I can't imagine the pain and anguish Lisa must be feeling in her heart. And once again, it has given me perspective.

And once again, Naomi, your kindness and trueness of heart shines through.

  27. Lisa probably doesn't remember me, but I remember her. Her Dad was my Bishop many years ago - as was her grandfather (Branch President) and one of her Uncles. I don't get to go back to Tasmania very often, but the people there hold such wonderful memories for me and will always have a place in my heart.
I understand the loss and pain of losing a child, but cannot fathom the loss of a spouse
What a strong, wonderful, eternal family. I have shared this on my facebook page, I hope that it will help. Thank you for setting this up so people can help. Our family will.

  29. I just wanted to suggest that in Australia life insurance is very commony found in superannuation funds even if it was never applied for. I work in this industry and thought that it might be worth the family time seeking help from a financial planner or looking through the husbands paperwork. I'm sure the family could use all the funds the can get their hands on right now and there might just be some funds waiting to be claimed if the right person is looking for them. Hope that helps!
