Maybelline New York Review

Maybe she's born with it or maybe she's given it!

Just before Christmas I received a surprise package in the mail.

Eeeek! A box full of Maybelline New York makeup goodness.

To say I freaked out is a bit of an understatement. To say that my daughters freaked out...well, I so wish I had taken a picture of the way their mouths hit the floor when I showed them what was in the box.

Such a shame that they are all too young to wear make up now isn't it? Haha!

Anyway, I was very excited to spend some time experimenting over the holiday break with some of the lovely products and colours contained in this collection. Maybelline New York know how to make a girl feel special that is for sure!

With so many products in the box I have decided to only share my favourite products. The products I just adored and loved. So let me break it down for you and share with you what I thought:

Mascara 

If you love big volume lashes you are going to enjoy the new Volum' Express One by One Mascara. The lash catcher is elliptically shaped and mimics the contour of the eye. It is also designed to smooth your lashes by detangling them, therefore providing better lash separation and a nicer overall lash look. I personally love thick lashes and loved the fullness this mascara gave to my eyelashes. It was easy to apply, did not sting my eyes and did give me more volume.

I was also sent the Great Lash Lots of Lashes Mascara to try which is a product designed to give you lots of volume, no clumps and no mess. The end of the mascara brush is very different to what I have tried before as it is a lot smaller and tapers in at the end to make it easier to apply mascara to smaller, finer eyelashes. Also known as The Great Little Graber this product is a great addition to your makeup collection. I have blonde eyelashes so I love to wear mascara and I loved all of the mascara range Maybelline New York has available. RRP $19.25.

Concealer

Seriously, who does not love concealer? I find myself using more and more of it every day! Specifically targeting the fragile eye area, the new Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Eye Eraser Concealer helps to conceal puffiness, dark circles and fine lines. I found it a very different process to apply this product as the end is not a roll on, but a small sponge or puff ball that fills with concealer as you twist the top of the product. You can either apply directly to your face in dabs or spots or apply directly to your finger to smooth onto your skin. I like the shape of the product, easy to handle and it comes in a good variety of colour choices for a concealer. I had no problems using this product and loved being able to have a few more concealers in my collection. RRP $18.95

Lipstick

I love my lipstick. I love the colour it adds to your face and I just love how it finishes off your makeup. I was totally blown away by how much lipstick was included in this box. I was in lipstick heaven!

I am adoring the Maybelline New York Colour Sensational Lip Colour range of products. I love the pink case and I love the variety of colours available. This lipstick range has a shine and gloss feel and look to it and is so easy to apply. It feels light on your lips and contains a honey infused moisturising formula to nourish lips whilst also adding colour. I found it to be a great handy lipstick to have for the price available. RRP $16.95. My favourite colours were: Juicy Pink, Sugar Plum and Mauve Diamonds. I love, love, love the added sparkle in the Mauve Diamonds lipstick - so my style!

As nude lipstick can be worn at anytime and anywhere, Maybelline New York has updated it's shade range with 5 new nude shades available for you to enjoy. Perfect for wearing if you are popping out to the shops or even to the beach and they have a great range of 15 nude shades to choose from. I was sent 5 of the new shades to try out and I love the colours available. RRP $16.95. See colours below:

Nailpolish

The Maybelline New York Colorama Mini Nail Colour Bitter Sweets Collection has two new shades available, Fruit Juice and Tart. I am a big nail polish fan and was delighted to have a few new colours to add to my collection. These are good quality nail polishes and very bright and vibrant for summer. The offset any outfit nicely. LOVE them! RRP $5.95. Here is a snap of me wearing the Fruit Juice below:

Gel Eyeliner

I love a little eyeliner on my eyes when I am applying my makeup. Depending on my mood is how much and how thick I apply it. Bad mood - thick eyeliner, good mood - thin eyeliner. I am a little funny like that! I was thrilled to try out the Maybelline New York Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. Originally launched as limited edition shades, the Charcoal and Eggplant shades are now permanent shades along with the existing black and brown available. You can use this gel eyeliner to create a delicate fine line or a fierce thicker look. To apply the product you dip the brush into the gel formula, wipe off the excess on the rim of the jar and then glide the brush in small strokes across the lash line. Continue to do so until you get the thickness you desire. I loved this product, very easy to apply and it gives you a great look. It is smudge proof and the brush is very small and easy to handle. A new favourite in my makeup collection. RRP $16.95.
