Do you have days where you just let it all slide?
Where you break free from your normal routine and escape the house?
Every so often I need one of those days.
I leave the washing. I leave the dishes.
I leave it all behind and get outside.
I breathe deeply. I go slow.
I connect with nature and I connect with myself.
If you haven't had one of those days for a while.
Grab your keys, leave it all behind and walk out that door.
It will still be there for you when you get back.
A fresh change will help you tackle those tasks with a better attitude.
Go on try it. You know you so deserve it!

Sometimes I have weeks like that, especially when hubby is really working long hours, when I just need a change of scenery - I take the kids and go do all the 'fun' errands that need to be done, coffee dates we have been putting off becaues too busy etc! (though the buildup after a week is a bit shocking!)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day, Naomi! xx
My hubby works long hours sometimes as well and by then I am about to scream so I have to get out. I find I am a totally different mother when I take the time to get out and have some fun. N x
DeleteOooh yes, I need days like that all the time (& actually get them at least weekly haha)...I'm really lucky that my husband can & will help out with the housework & the kids when I need the break :-) enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteLove a supportive hubby and love that you make sure you have them. Keep it up Kelly x
DeleteJust reading this made me breathe in a big slow breathe and exhale Naomi.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the gift of your wisdom.
Happy day!
x
Love a deep slow breather, so needed some days. Enjoy your day xx
DeleteGood on you love, just what we all need every now and then :)
ReplyDeleteWe do don't we? I go stir crazy if I don't. N x
DeleteIts funny how my dining table right now looks exactly like yours.
ReplyDeleteI have seven cherubs too but unlike yours my children came in two
batches of three. The first batch are now 19 and 18 ( twins boy and girl )
and the second one are 12,10,9 and the youngest being just 3yrs old.
I always have those days when I let it all go, then have one of those
adrenaline-filled day when I just go go go and finish everything.
Were not robots and certainly not maids. It's unfair that the messer are alot
faster than the cleaner haha.
No matter how hard and how monotonous life is, I still love my job.
The safest job in the world, can't get FIRED haha.
Have a BLESSED one Naomi and to all MUM's out there <3

Woo hoo! Another mum of seven cherubs. Lovely to meet you and yes, no firing from this job. Haha!
DeleteAbsolutely !! Everyone needs days like this .. It's almost exhilarating .. Not making the bed before walking out the door! I mean it's not every day someone will be visiting so the house doesn't need to be sparkling all the time ! X
ReplyDeleteLove your thinking Jayne. It is not everyday we need our homes sparkling clean. They need to be lived in and we need to live as well!
DeleteI love the serenity of the candles surrounded by washing!! I loved the mention of the word nature..I do find these days beneficial, not if I go shopping or surround myself with noise of the hustleybustley world, but if I go for a bush walk and breathe deep it makes SUCH a difference, as you said..Enjoy, Theresa
ReplyDeleteI have been missing my bush walks. Must book myself in for one. Thanks for the reminder Theresa x
DeleteWell said Naomi. I regularly have those days :) I abandon ship & head out to spend time with my 2 little cherubs without the stress of cleaning & chores or the distraction of computers & television. LOVELY!! x
ReplyDeleteLove that Claire. Escaping for a day of adventure is sure fun! N x
DeleteAbsolutely!! I think if you don't have days like these you just go insane. In saying that, this is a good reminder that life is too short to stress that the washing isn't done or the dishes are dirty. I think we could all use that little reminder from time to time. Thanks Naomi x
ReplyDeleteYes, life is too short to be worrying about it all the time. Life is for fun as well. Thanks for dropping by. N x
DeleteTotally agree :) but wow on your washing baskets!!
ReplyDeleteI do the opposite... hnnngh! I have relaxed to the point where I'm ok with things left not done and I get to the point where the typical mum might grab the keys and walk around the block to recharge. My recharge is cleaning the house! It's working for me so far (after the first few years with a baby/toddler challenging my need for order and every thing "just so"!). Now she is at school I feel like sighing a lot of relieved sighs with the delicious knowing that I have my house back.
ReplyDeleteI do this often Naomi! It's the best soul food. And how much do our babies benefit when we put ho-hum chores aside to enjoy family time?! xo
ReplyDeleteps...that there is SOME WASHING!
