my blogging space and Aussie Wordless Wednesday

Today I thought I would link up with a Aussie Wordless Wednesday and share some pictures of where I do my blogging. It is where I try to get creative and like to write. Can you tell I love blue???

This is my perfect little desk that I found on the side of the road and I am totally blessed with an super awesome computer my husband ordered for me - so spoilt! I also love these pink flowers which are actually lights that I picked up from Target and...oh! wait this is supposed to be wordless - better stop!

dining room re-do

Recently on a Friday as I was driving home from the school pick up, I decided I was in the mood for painting.

Does anyone else get in moods like that or is it just me?

So I gave the kids a snack - let them play and watch a bit of television and painted the wall. I just finished the second coat as Matt arrived home from work. As per usual he was not surprised by my actions - he knows I love to change things around a bit!

The room I wanted to finish painting was the dining room. Well, we call it our dining room but it is an extension of our kitchen. It is where we eat and spend a lot of our time. I wanted it to have a bit more of a family focus, to be simple and nice.

I have decorated one side of the room and you can see a picture of it Here.

The only picture of the wall that I have before I painted is below:

It previously was a blue wall with a mirror hanging on it that I used to keep an eye on what was happening in the girls bedroom. Now about the messy cherub in the picture! This picture was taken on a day that Liberty decided to help herself to some chocolate custard in the fridge. Don't know if I am going to buy it again??? what a mess!

I decided to paint the wall the same colour as the other side, added some curtains, hung a new picture and put a sideboard in to make the area more practical for me to use. It is not exactly the way that I would like it but a serious improvement!

I put the family sign on top because there is already a hook there but I think it would look better underneath - good enough for today! I like that it is simple and I love the colour.

This is one of my favourite items in our house. I put these two separate pictures together and had them framed. I love that they are a positive example of parenting and if you count there are seven children in the picture, just like in our house.

I added some new curtains I picked up at Big W and I love the pattern and they match really well.
Just with making a few changes I was able create a whole new feel to our dining room.

It is not how I would ideally like it but I am happy for now!
