Simply Beautiful Jewels Giveaway

Jewellery brings happiness to my day. It adds an extra little something to my outfit and I always feel a little extra special when I am wearing it. Recently, I have been learning about magnetic necklaces and how versatile they can be and am delighted to give one away to a Seven Cherubs reader.

Magnetic jewellery is designed to be easy to wear while also being beautifully crafted and pleasing to the eye. Most of the clasps that are on these necklaces are also magnets making it very easy to put on and take off. You simply slide the ends toward or away from each other and you can interchange your necklace to a look that you love to match an outfit that you are wearing that day or night.

Today I have available to giveaway a lovely magnetic necklace from Maria Nicola Jewellery. Maria has 18 years in retail jewellery experience and has collected a stunning range of jewellery that includes a collection that features classic, bold and neutral styles. Maria's collection is timeless. I have been drooling over some of her items at her site and have already picked out a few favourites I hope to add to my collection one day. Her latest magnetic necklace is magnificent!

No clasps make for easy wear, the changeable designs allow you to effortlessly go from casual to formal and the magnets are strong and reliable. It can be changed very easily from a long necklace to a short necklace with a matching bracelet. Once you start playing with it you will find 6 different styles you can wear and have fun with. A wonderful necklace to take on holidays, to work or give as a gift! Available in black or silver crystal. I have added a video below to show you how it works. Looks fun and easy!

If you are interested in purchasing one for yourself Maria is having a special where if you mention this blog post you will receive a FREE pair of sterling silver crystal studs to complete the set!

simply beautiful jewels: 2 essential earrings

A simply beautiful jewels post.
2 Essential earrings every woman needs in her jewellery collection.

As you know I adore jewellery and other women often ask me where to start in creating a jewellery collection. So today, I thought I would share 2 Essential Earrings I believe every woman should have in their jewellery collection.

These items are simple and classic pieces. The 2 choices would have to be pearls and diamonds. Pearls and Diamonds go with any outfit and can be worn anywhere at anytime. They both are super easy to match with clothes and to start you off here are the three sizes I recommend owning:

With pearls I would recommend a small pair to wear when you are hanging out around home, if you want something a little more subtle to go with a larger necklace you are wearing and want to feature or even when you go swimming.

The next medium size is great to wear for a more classic look with stripes and helps to bring out the white in an outfit you may be wearing. Pearls also go with any skin colour and I think they look great on everyone.

The larger size (which normally look a lot better than what mine do - I have worn them way too much!) look great when you are wearing your hair up and can totally help make an outfit. Large pearls and pearls in general can help give you a more sophisticated and elegant look if you are dressing up for an evening out but they can also be fun with stripes for a more casual look.

One of the reasons I love them so much is that they are versatile. If you are lucky enough to own real pearls you will truly value them and they are a great investment. They stand the test of time when it comes to fashion.

With diamonds I would recommend a small pair to wear when you are looking for a more relaxed and simple look. Often I like to wear smaller diamonds if I am wearing a chunky diamond necklace. So that it matches but does not draw the attention away from my feature piece of jewellery.

For the medium size I love to wear them during the day around the house and when I go out to add some sparkle to my outfit. I wear them with any other type of jewellery colour and with any colour outfit I have on. There is not one colour that diamonds do not go with!

With the large style diamond earrings I love, love, love to wear them nice and chunky when I go out. Often I will wear the larger style diamond earrings with a simple style necklace and especially when I have my hair up I love a chunky diamond earring to go with a hot looking hair cut.

I hope that this has been a little helpful and that if you are wondering where to start with your jewellery collection that you will add these two choices: diamond and pearls to you collection. I buy the cheaper style and brands and find that they last a long time and I use them regularly.

What jewellery would you recommend?

simply beautiful jewels: my personalised necklace

It is no secret that I love jewellery.
I wear it every single day.

Today I am stepping out of my comfort zone and sharing one of my new 'simply beautiful' blog posts. I decided to call it simply beautiful as I like to look beautiful every day and I also like to keep it simple. I wanted to share some of the jewellery I wear and hopefully give you some ideas as well. I love jewellery as it helps me to feel happier and I love accessorising my outfits.

One item of jewellery I have always wanted to own is a personalised necklace. Something special to represent our family. The chances of me ever having some spare cash to get one made up for me has been very slim lately. So I decided to improvise and am delighted with the results.

I created my own personalised necklace when I found these charms on sale in Diva for $2 each. I grabbed one to represent each member of our family. I then added them to a necklace I already owned and I loved that it has the same look at the charms. Perfect match.

I can now wear each family member close to my heart. Total cost being $18. I am happy with that bargain personalised necklace. As far as wearing it goes, it does not sit flat against my chest but hangs more in a bunch. I love the look of it and I love to wear it with stripes or even sitting nicely underneath a shirt. It is also a fun necklace as when I am wearing it my cherubs come up to find which letter they are and get excited that 'they' are hanging around my neck. It really does become a personal necklace.

Wearing the actual necklace. I think I need to smile more next time!

By the way: I am very, very excited to be a Mix Apparel Blogger.

Time stands still with Salita Matthews

Recently I received a gorgeous gift in the mail. I just love gifts in the mail, don't you? It was a necklace from Salita Matthews. As you know I am a serious jewellery collector and necklaces just happen to be my favourite accessory. I was very, very excited to open the box and delighted with the contents.

Salita sent me her "Time Stands Still" necklace. I have to say that time truly did stand still when I opened up the box and saw the contents: the colour just blew me away and it would have to be the chunkiest, most colourful necklace that I own.

This necklace is full of colour, vibrant and gorgeous. I love that it can be turned around and worn two different ways. Meaning I can turn the necklace around to show off two different colour sets to wear with a variety of outfits. See below:

By wearing the necklace this way I can show off a lot more of the white shells and feature the long thin rods that hang so beautifully on the bottom of the necklace.

By wearing the necklace this way I can show off more of the longer shells and add a summer feel to an outfit. People adore the necklace and I have seen it worn by Nikki from Styling You and she looks great in it.

I like to wear the Time Stand Still necklace it up a little higher on my chest and of course to wear it with a version of my favourite colour blue. I love how it brings out the smaller aqua/teal/blue thread weaved throughout the necklace. I love it!

Salita is one creative lady and after studying for a diploma in Fashion, worked as a stylist in New York and Los Angeles for a freelance photographer. She had a stint in fashion manufacturing and production in Australia and Bali and started Salita Matthews in 2007.

Her collections are inspired by her travels and her east meets west upbringing, combining unique embellishments, quality fabrics, rich colours and luscious textures. You can view her other jewellery available at Salita Matthews Jewellery and connect with her on facebook.

Thanks so much for the lovely gift Salita and I look forward to wearing it with as many outfits as I can in the future.

my jewellery storage for earrings

I am always on the lookout for great jewellery storage ideas that work and am finally happy with the earring jewellery storage I now have. It has taken me a while to source jewellery stands that I am happy with as I really love having my jewellery on display so I can easily see what I want to wear.

Some of you may know I have a small addiction to jewellery. Just a really, really small one....
If you follow me on Instagram you will know this to be true!

I found the first jewellery stand in Target for around $14 and the second one in Diva for $9. The one from Target is far more sturdy than the one from Diva. I have to put blue tac on the bottom of the Diva jewellery stand as it is so unstable but I love that on the other half of it you can also hang some necklaces...another small addiction that I have!

I have been working on organising my jewellery a little better and thought I would just share how I keep my earrings neat and organised. My girls have most of the other earrings I am currently not wearing and I am really happy with the collection I now have. A mix of colours and favourites.

How do you store your earrings???

fashion jewellery

I love fashion jewellery. I am addicted to necklaces and I love to wear them to add a little happiness to my life. I especially love it when I find cheap fashion jewellery that looks good and I can make it work with several different outfits I already have in my wardrobe.

To start off my 'wear your happiness' posts I am sharing with you a favourite necklace of mine that is a great piece of dress jewellery. I picked it up in Diva and I love the colours: bright, fun and gorgeous. I always feel happier wearing it. I also love that no matter what size my body is...my necklace always fits!

One of my favourite fashion necklaces:

I love to wear it with a print dress I picked up in Target:

my dark side

I keep everything light and fresh on this blog.
I do have a darker side though.
I seem to be wearing a lot of black lately.

I heart necklaces, bracelets, rings, scarves and all jewellery.
I share my dark side and love for these over at Diva Mum.
The end.
